Breaking: Reyes returns for Game 2 today, Paulino likely to DL

Mets shortstop and National League batting title contender Jose Reyes is expected to be activated from the 15-day disabled list today, after just completing a rehab stint in AA Binghamton.

The Bergen Record's Steve Popper is reporting that catcher Ronny Paulino will likely be headed to the DL in the corresponding move.

Francisco Rodriguez traded

K-Rod was traded today, to Milwaukee for two players to be named later.

This man got a tremendously bad rap whilst in a Mets uniform, partially for things that were his fault (like assaulting older family members and the such) I will admit, but all too often for trivial reasons- the game was a bit closer than you had envisioned, the vesting option for 2012 was approaching too quickly, etc.

Let it be known that Frankie was pretty damn good for us, even though he probably wasn't worth his salary. Let us move on, while never forgetting the pitcher who lost his chance to shine with the Mets, between the 2009 failed tag team with Putz, the 2010 shenanigans (for lack of a better word), and the 2011 trade. Please let Frankie be one of the guys we cheer when he comes back into town, he deserves nothing less.

Breaking News: Cora Out for the Season

Gary Cohen just reported on SNY that Alex Cora has chosen to get surgery on his injured thumb and will miss the remainder of the 2009 season.

A corresponding roster move will be made before tomorrow's game. I'd predict that Argenis Reyes or Mike Lamb gets the callup.

Breaking News: Wright to 15-Day DL

See title ^

Postgame post coming up a bit later (and apologies for the lack of lineups today, I'm attempting to get a 2nd writer to collaborate with me on DBJ, until then there may be a few lapses in posts).

Breaking News: CAT Scans on Wright Negative

Mets may have just dodged a major bullet.

SNY is reporting that the CAT scans on David Wright came up negative. Wright suffered a concussion and will stay in the hospital overnight as a precaution.
